Hofstra Today is a news program style television series created by James Benesh in the Fall of 2010. It officially joined HEAT programming in the Spring of 2011. Each episode is a 30-minute live show, and is jointly produced by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) and HEAT. As a result, Hofstra Today is an exceptional pairing of both television and journalism elements that mirror industry news programs, delivering a wide spectrum of production experience to its crew and talent.
The show features the top stories of the day, including local, national, and international news, along with the day’s weather report and sports update.
As the show's title suggests, Hofstra Today equally focuses on the stories happening at and around the Hofstra campus. The show is also know for its prestigious interviews with Hofstra personnel including, at several points, with Hofstra president Stuart Rabinowitz.
